TitanNit 1.71 erzeugt ERROR REBOOT, 1.70 nicht

    TitanNit 1.71 erzeugt ERROR REBOOT, 1.70 nicht

    Hallo,
    ein Bekannter hat mich gebeten, auf seinem UFS 922 TitanNit einzurichten und die Lizenz dafür zu kaufen. Dies ist meine erste Begegnung mit TitanNit; ich wollte natürlich gleich die aktuelle 1.71 stable vom 14. März flashen, doch die ließ sich nach erfolgreichem Flashen nicht starten - der Receiver gerät in eine Endlosschleife , die mit der Meldung ERROR REBOOT im Display immer wieder kommt.

    Ich habe dann hin- und herprobiert, u. a. auch die nightly 1.71 vom 6. April versucht und zwischendurch mit dem Recovery auf die originale Kathrein-Firmware 2.01 zurückgesetzt. (Wobei dann seltsamerweise alle Einstellungen und die individuelle Senderliste der ursprünglichen Kathrein-Firmware 2.10 wieder da waren.)

    Schließlich habe ich herausgefunden: Die früheren TitanNit-Versionen bis einschließlich 1.70 funktionieren auf dem Receiver und starten nach dem Flashen, wie es sein soll. Erst die 1.71 hat das genannte Problem.


    Jetzt soll aber unbedingt die 1.71 drauf -- laut Changelist hat erst diese Version in der Tithek BurningSeries drin, was eigentlich der Haupgrund für den gewünschten Umstieg auf TitanNit ist (ja, wirklich). Zwar könnte ich die 1.70 installieren und nach dem Lizenzieren drauf hoffen, dass vielleicht per Online-Update (die Funktion wird's hoffentlich geben) der Umstieg auf die 1.71 klappt.

    Aber, das wäre meine Frage: Unterscheidet sich der Online-Update-Prozess überhaupt so vom Flashen per USB, dass es Hoffnung auf ein Funktionieren der 1.71 gibt? Oder dürfte die Ursache eher nicht im Update- bzw. Flash-Prozess liegen, sondern in der installierten Software selbst (z. B. durch Änderung im Kernel)?
    Und: Ist das Problem bekannt? Ich habe keinen identischen Problemfall finden können, nicht hier und auch nicht in anderen einschlägigen Foren.
    Außerdem: Wenn die Lizenz gekauft wird, bleibt die Lizenzierungs-Information bei Update-Versuchen per Flash gespeichert? Oder kann es passieren, dass man eine neue Lizenz anfordern muss?



    Für die Diagnose, der genaue Ablauf nach Flashen der 1.71 mittels AUX-Taste ist:
    Es erscheint auf dem Fernseher die Meldung "Lösche: SWAP - Lösche speicher", dann "Löschen abgeschlossen" und weiter "Formatiere und initialisiere SWAP - Receiver bitte nicht ausschalten". Schließlich kommt auf dem Display Erase done, und der Receiver startet neu .
    Im Display erscheint Kathrein UFS-922, dann ** Atemio ** gleichzeitig mit dem TitanNit-Bootlogo auf dem Fernseher. Für kurze Zeit steht anschließend im Display titan, während das Bootlogo auf dem Fernseher verschwindet (Bildschirm wird schwarz), und dann kommt für längere Zeit auf dem Display <TITAN>. Schließlich wird im Display bei schwarzem Fernseher die Meldung ERROR REBOOT eingeblendet, und es geht wieder von vorne los mit Kathrein UFS-922.

    Bei den Vorgänger-Versionen kommt dagegen das normale Fernsehbild, einige Zeit nach dem Erscheinen von <TITAN> im Display.

    Ach ja: Vor dem ersten Installations-Versuch habe ich aus Vorsicht schon mal nach aufgeblähten Elkos im Netzteil geschaut und die Festplatte im PC auf defekte Sektoren überprüfen lassen -- da ist soweit alles in Ordnung. (Gemessen habe ich die Elkos allerdings nicht, war eine reine Sichtprüfung -- und ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass Netzteil-Probleme nur bei einer bestimmten Firmware-Version auftreten. Der Receiver macht außerhalb TitanNit 1.71 keine Probleme.)

    In der Tithek bei 1.70 BurningSeries nachrüsten

    Hallo nochmal,

    mir ist noch ein möglicher Workaround eingefallen:
    Lässt sich denn bei der Version 1.70 und 1.69 von TitanNit das Feature BurningSeries in der Tithek einfach nachrüsten? Sprich, kann das bei den älteren Versionen von TitanNit einfach als Plugin nachgeladen werden? Oder muss das von vornherein im Image schon unterstützt sein?

    Das würde notfalls auch reichen -- dann dürften halt bloß auf dem Receiver keine weiteren Updates von TitanNit installiert werden.

        Ich habe es grade ausprobiert -- leider gibt's mit der Version 1.72 genau dasselbe Fehlerbild (ERROR REBOOT) wie bei Version 1.71.

            Ursache ist wohl fehlende Netzverbindung

            Hallo,
            anscheinend bin ich beim Erstellen des Logs auf die Ursache des Problems gestoßen: Es war kein Netzwerkkabel am Receiver eingesteckt!

            Beim ersten Loggen kam eine Meldung, dass keine Verbindung zum NTP-Server aufgebaut werden konnte, und dann später Segmentation fault. Ich dachte schon an einen Hardware-Fehler im RAM-Baustein, wollte aber dann noch die vermeintlich unnötige Fehlermeldung aus dem Log weg haben. Also habe ich mit angestecktem Netzwerkkabel ein zweites Log erstellt, und plötzlich startete der Receiver!
            Es kam eine Meldung über die verbleibende Test-Laufzeit von 11 Tagen, dann erschien das Fernsehbild.

            Zwar gibt's noch ein paar Fehlermeldungen, aber die sind hoffentlich nichts Gravierendes mehr.

            Bei einem dritten Startversuch, wieder mit gezogenem Netzwerkkabel, kam übrigens wieder ERROR REBOOT - mit der einmaligen Anzeige über die Test-Restlaufzeit ist das Ganze also noch nicht vorbei.

            Jetzt frage ich mich: Ist das nur in der nicht-freigeschalteten Testversion so, dass die Verbindung zum NTP-Server verfügbar sein muss, oder ist die immer notwendig?
            Denn die WLAN-Bridge am geplanten Aufstellort kann erfahrungsgemäß durchaus mal "hängen", und dann ließe sich ja der Receiver gar nicht starten.


            Jedenfalls würde ich empfehlen, im Wiki bei der Installationsanleitung für den UFS 922 zu erwähnen, dass ein Netzwerkkabel ab Version 1.71 gesteckt sein sollte. Und eine weitere kleine Korrektur wäre auch noch im Wiki nötig: Zum Flashen muss man bei diesem Modell nicht die Radio-Taste beim Einschalten gedrückt halten, sondern die AUX-Taste.

                Meine 922 hat es heute auch erwischt . Nach dem booten kommt error reboot . Der Workaround mit dem Netzwerkkabel hilft bei mir nicht . Zuerst war die 1.69 drauf und dann die neueste stable .
