    player2 status

    Hi,

    I have noticed notes about not having full player2 code
    (read it "the code is not usefull for own image build").

    I don't understand reason why there are missing
    copro-microcode-specific headers (please don't say
    that headers are not free). But OK. It is up
    to guys having full code if they want/like/whatever
    to publish then or not.

    I even tried to be a bit smart and add some
    missing parts from old player2 code
    (which is flying around at least for year),
    but was unsuccessfull either.

    So, my .2 cents are only for guys trying
    again and again getting player2 code
    compiled - don't do it. The code is not
    usefull because of missing some internal
    parts.

    me I'm wrong on it.

    PS2: Don' t understand me wrong - I'm
    still very happy that such project was born.
    Here can many guys enjoying games
    on pretty not old DVB hardware

    Yeah, that won't work - a german thread is open on this as well and the basic reply is they won't be released (or, this is my addition, "not in the near future" and maybe never). I also tried but gave up But not important - let some ppl work on player2 and the others can focus on the "upper layer" My 2 cents

      Well, after using google translate on german thread about player2 I realized that there is
      restriction regarding player2 code.

      So, to not break any rule I can only say that if anybody is interested in OLD player2
      sources which are working (but, of course are "OLD", so may be more buggy?)
      let ask me directly.

      I personally don' t see any reason why there should be any problem with STM because of it. Those sources comes directly from official STM FTP server, and are GPL-ed.
